Autumn Aboard

Day 1 • Romney, WV: Head to wonderful, wild West Virginia with us for this train-filled summer getaway in the Appalachian Mountains! Arrive this afternoon for a ride aboard the Potomac Eagle Scenic Train, where we enjoy a meal on board. Then, check into our hotel for the next three nights - Canaan Valley Resort. (L, D)

Day 2 • Train and Show: This morning, board the New Tygart Flyer for a ride on board a vintage diesel-powered passenger train through the outskirts of the Monongahela National Forest, featuring mountain grade, an S curve tunnel, high bridge and miles of mountainous views! The climate-controlled train is one of the steepest railroad grades east of the Mississippi River. Next, visit the West Virginia Railroad Museum prior to diner at a show at the Gandy Dancer Theater. Day 3 • Two trains and a show: Visit the Green Bank Observatory, home to the world's largest steerable radio telescope.  Our adventure takes us to the famous Cass Railroad for a 4-hour excursion with panoramic mountain views. Return to our resort to spend the rest of the day as you please. (B, L)

Day 4 • Home: All aboard the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for a 3.5 hour ride featuring views of the Narrows, Helmsetter's Curve, Brush Tunnel, Mount Sage Overlook and more. Enjoy lunch and free time in Frostburg, MD, before the return ride. Enjoy a relaxing ride home on board your motorcoach envigorated by our exciting journing rideing the rails of West Virginia and Maryland. (B)
