California Redwoods and More

Day 1 • Iowa: Our adventure to cross over the United States begins today with overnight at Isle Hotel and Casino, Bettendorf, IA. (D)

 

Day 2 • Nebraska: We depart Iowa today, we will stop and tour Schildberg's Antique Car Museum. You will overnight near Grand Island, Nebraska where you will have dinner included. (B, D)

 

Day 3 • Wyoming: Continue west today, with a visit to the Great Platte River Archway in Kearney, NE. Stop for photos at the Henry Joy Monument & Abraham Lincoln Memorial Monument in Laramie,WY where we overnight. (B)

 

Day 4 • Utah: As we travel across the beautiful Cowboy State today,we will stop at the Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum, Wyoming's first state penitentiary. Oh the stories that you will hear from your guided tour! Dinner will be included before overnight in North Salt Lake, UT. (B, D)

 

Day 5 • Nevada: This morning, get up close with history at the Bonneville Salt Flats. A remnant of Pleistocene Lake Bonneville, the area is known for being where vehicles have set land speed records. Then, it’s on to "the biggest little city in the world" - Reno, NV, for an overnight stay. (B)

 

Day 6 • California: Arrive in the Golden State with a stop this morning at Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Later, dinner will be included tonight prior to checking into our Eureka, CA hotel. We will be here for 2 nights. (B, L, D)

 

Day 7 • Big trees: Our day starts at Trees of Mystery, home to a Redwood grove, museum and more! This afternoon’s scenic drive includes stops at Big Tree Wayside, the visitors center at Redwood National and State Parks in Orick, and Avenue of the Giants.  (B, D)

 

Day 8: California:  Today we will have a drive around the Avenue of Giants. We get to stop and see if we can find information on the Legend of Bigfoot! Next, enjoy a local winery this afternoon prior to checking into our local hotel. (B)

 

Day 9 • San Francisco:  We will start our day at Bee's n Blooms Farm for a guided tour and lunch included. Next, we will meet an expert guide who joins us for a tour of the city. The evening is yours to explore. (B)

 

Day 10 • Alcatraz: This morning we will take a different sort of island cruise to famed Alcatraz. Located in the San Francisco Bay, the island is home to the maximum security prison often called The Rock. Tour the building that once held criminals like Al Capone and Whitey Bulger. Enjoy free time on the pier for lunch prior to us dpearting for the Bakersfield, CA area for our overnight stay where dinner will be included. (B, D)

 

Day 11 • Las Vegas: After our breakfast included we make our way to Las Vegas, NV. We will stop and have a tour of The Mob Museum, as if you listen real close you might find some local connections! We will also make a stop at the Neon Museum where you can explore the hidden treasures of the neon graveyard. We will check into a local Casino Resort for a 2 night stay. (B)

 

Day 12 • Viva Las Vegas:  You will have the entire day to play the slots or just relax at the pool or spa or take in a show! Today is yours to just do what you want to do!

 

Day 13 • Zion National Park: As we stay goodbye to the lights and sounds of Vegas we are off to see the beauty of Zion National Park. You will have time to explore.We will overnight near the Mt. Carmel, UT area where dinner will be included. (D)

 

Day 14 • Bryce Canyon : As we depart today we will make a stop in Bryce Canyon where you will be able to take some amazing pictures. We will have lunch included today enroute to Glennwood Hot Springs Resort. You will have time to explore and relax in the hot springs.  (B, D)

 

Day 15 • Colorado: Continue east today, stopping at the Argo Gold Mine and Mill where you will have a tour and have time to pan for gold!  Next, we are going to visit the Coors Brewery Company where we will have a tour and a tasting if you want! Dinner will be included tonight prior to checking into our hotel near Burlington, Colorado. (B, D)

 

Day 16 • Kansas:  As we depart Colorado we will make a stop at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Museum and Boyhood Home for a tour. We will check into our local hotel in the Topeka, KS area. (B)

 

Day 17 • Illinois: Before we depart Topeka we will stop for pictures at the Kansas Capitol Dome. Then you can't leave with out some Kansas City BBQ! Lunch will be included so you can try this famous BBQ. We will overnight near Effingham, IL. (B,L)

 

Day 18    Home: As our final day of our trip we will include our farewell dinner to talk about all of wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. (B, D)
