    - Travel back in time with a guide in period attire as you walk through the Shrivers’ meticulously restored 1860 home to learn the other side of the story - the civilian side of the Battle of Gettysburg. Connect to the past while you listen to the story of George, Hettie, Sadie (7) and Mollie (5) unfold as you move from room to room to appreciate what life was like before, during, and after the Civil War.

    - Depart the morning of day 2 for a day in the nation's capital. Visit the monuments and memorials and emjoy free time on the National Mall. Drive past many other landmarks.

  • Gettysburg National Military Park

    - An expert guide joins us for a tour of the battlefield. Over 1600 monuments and cannons dot the landscape in memory of those who fought and died here. The Northern and Southern armies met here in July 1863, in three days of battle left 51,000 causalities. President Lincoln dedicated the national cemetery on the battlefield, November 1863.

  • Explore the Visitor Center, including admission to the Cyclorama Painting and the film A New Birth of Freedom.  Longer than a football field and as tall as a four-story structure, the Gettysburg Cyclorama oil painting, along with light and sound effects, immerses visitors in the fury of Pickett’s Charge during the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg. The museum is home to relics of the Battle of Gettysburg and personalities who served in the Civil War, inter-active exhibits, and multi-media presentations that cover the conflict from beginning to end as well as describe the Battle of Gettysburg and its terrible aftermath.
