Island Hopping

 

Day 1 • Berea, KY: Visit some of the most beautiful islands in the South on this spring showcase vacation. Overnight in Berea. (D)

 

Day 2 • Pine Mountain, GA: Travel through Tennessee this morning and arrive for overnight at Callaway Garden Resort in Pine Mountain, GA. The outdoor gardens and trails here are open until dusk and there are several dining options at the resort. (B, D)

 

Day 3 • Jekyll Island: After breakfast we will have guided tour of the gardens. Then we hit the coast of Jekyll Island. The resort, will be home for the next three nights. (B, D)

 

Day 4 • St. Simons Island: Climb aboard the Drive-By Trolley for a tour of the island. Be aware, they "speak southern" on this tour. Then visit the World War II Home Front Museum, which brings to life Coastal Georgia’s contributions and how the quiet region was transformed during the war. Explore the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum and Keeper's Dwelling. After some free time in Pier Village, depart for Driftwood Beach.  (B, L)

 

Day 5 • Seaside fun: Hop on a trolley this morning for fun tour of Jekyll Island. Then, learn about how people help save our turtle friends at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. After lunch, enjoy dolphin tour cruise and the evening on your own. (B, L)

 

Day 6 • Savannah: Our next destination is the oldest city in the state, beautiful Savannah, GA. Experience the city via the Old Town Trolley tour followed by an afternoon of hopping on and off as you please around the route. Visit charming Tybee Island. (B, D)

 

Day 7 • Charoltte, NC: Travel to South Carolina today, where a guide joins us for a tour of Parris Island. Enjoy free time in Beaufort, S.C. Here, embark on a guided tour of the town. Overnight in Charlotte, NC. (B, D)

 

Day 8 •  Home: Our relaxing journey brings us home tonight with tales of island hopping southern style and memories to last a lifetime. (B)
