Rail and Sail Scenic New England

Day 1 • River cruise: Experience scenic New England by train and on the water! Our journey begins with a narrated cruise on the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat in Williamsport, PA. Overnight near Scranton.

 

Day 2 • New York state: Start the day with a sightseeing cruise of the Hudson River aboard the Rip Van Winkle. From the water, you’ll view lighthouses, mansions and more. Move on to Saratoga Springs with an on-coach tour of the town’s highlights, including Congress Park, Victorian architecture and the race course. Overnight at the Saratoga Casino Hotel. (B, BL, D)

 

Day 3 • New Hampshire: Venture to Vermont this morning, with a stop at Billings Farm & Museum, a fully-operational dairy farm and rural heritage museum. Snap a photo or two at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s "Little Grand Canyon." Spend the next two nights in Lincoln, NH. Journey through the mountains while we dine on a four course meal aboard the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train. (B,L, D)

 

Day 4 • White Mountain Splendor: Ride to the top of Mount Washington today on the Cog Railway. After time for lunch on your own and a visit to the Railway Museum. You will be our guests for dinner today at a local restaurant (B, D)

 

Day 5 • Maine: All aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad this morning with "hobo lunch" during our journey along the lake. Travel to Freeport, ME, where the evening is yours to explore. (B, BL)

 

Day 6 • Lighthouses & Lobstah: In Portland, ME, embark on a Trolley Tour of Portland. Stop at Nubble Lighthouse for photos and enjoy a lobster lunch in Kennebunk before we reach the Albany area for our overnight.(B, L)

 

Day 7 • Home:  As we travel home we will make a stop at the Made in America Store located in Elma NY tonight with fond memories of our travels in scenic New England. (B)
