Day 1 • Chicago: Get your kicks on Route 66 as we traverse the Mother Road! Our adventure includes must-see museums, cultural touchstones and a few quirky roadside attractions you’ll need to photograph. Journey to the historic highway’s starting point at Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. From here, learn all about the Windy City on a guided tour followed by dinner at an iconic city pizza joint. Overnight in Burr Ridge, IL. (D)

Day 2 • Litchfield, IL: In Pontiac, IL, get a look at the state’s history with the famous roadway at the Route 66 Hall of Fame. Then, enjoy the guided Jolly Trolley Tour of the town followed by lunch and free time. Dinner tonight is at the oldest café on Route 66. Spend the night in Litchfield. (B, L, D)

Day 3 • Springfield, MO: Take a tram to the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis this morning and a sightseeing cruise of the city. In Cuba, MO, a guided tour of the murals gives us a deeper understanding of the impact the road on American industry and expansion. After check in at our hotel, the evening is yours in Springfield, MO. (B, BL)

Day 4 • Cars and Caverns: Embark on a journey through the continent’s only ride-through cave at Fantastic Caverns. Cars on the Route in Galena, KS, is a fun stop celebrating the women who restored the old service station and its connection to the animated film Cars. Overnight in Quapaw, OK. (B, D)

Day 5 • Tulsa, OK: We continue west on the stretch known as the Will Rogers Highway, stopping at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. The museum honoring Oklahoma’s Favorite Son is home to the world’s largest collection of memorabilia related to the beloved entertainer. A local guide tells the story of  the architecture, citizens and artwork of Tulsa during a tour of the city. You are free to explore after checking in to our downtown hotel.  (B)

Day 6 • Clinton, OK: Chandler’s Route 66 Interpretive Center is not your typical museum. Emphasizing the life that the roadway instills into American communities, the center takes travelers through a “drive” from the 1920s to today. We’re in for a real treat today with lunch at the landmark Pops, known for its collection of soda pop bottles and wide variety of beverages. At the National Route 66 Museum in Elk City, you can immerse yourself in Americana. Overnight in Clinton. (B, L, D)

Day 7 • Oklahoma City, OK: Step back in time at the historic Fort Reno & Post Chapel. Get up close with the rare black and white gentle equestrian giants at the Express Clydesdale Welcome Center. Tonight, solve the mystery at Whodunit Dinner Theater. (B, D)

Day 8 • Wichita, KS: Visit the Oklahoma City Memorial, a place of quiet reflection remembering those who lost their lives, those who survived and those whose lives are forever changed by the 1995 tragedy. You’ll find the world’s largest collection of Old West artifacts at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. Then, it’s north into Kansas, where we spend the night in Wichita. (B)

Day 9 • St. Charles, MO: Kansas City, here we come! A professional guide leads us on a tour of the city’s vibrant culture and history. Enjoy a traditional barbecue dinner before checking in at our Saint Charles hotel. (B, L, D)
